Simple ways to recharge every day in 15-minutes or less

Before you crawl into bed and drift to sleep, I bet you take the time to plug in your phone so that it can charge back to 100% overnight.

But do you take time throughout your day to recharge your battery?

Unfortunately, for most of us (especially moms), the answer is "no." Often, we are too busy giving our time, energy, and love to our family, friends, and work, that we forget about the most critical person in our lives - ourselves.

When our phones drop to 20% battery life, the bar usually turns red, and we receive an alert to know our phone battery is getting low. But do you notice when your battery has dropped to 20%?

As women, mothers, and survivors, we often neglect to prioritize our needs. But our body, mind, and soul are giving us the signal. Feeling drained, tired, exhausted, or even physical symptoms such as headaches are all signs that your body, mind, and soul need a little R&R.

Unfortunately, it often takes some wake-up call before we start slowing down and taking care of ourselves. So, how can you incorporate a little self-care throughout your day?

Here are five simple ways to recharge your batteries every day in 15-minutes or less.

Recharge 1 - Workout

Exercising is not only good for the heart but good for your mental health too! A 15-minute workout not only helps to extend your life expectancy, but it's one of the best ways we can recharge. It doesn't matter how hard of a workout you do. The most important thing is choosing a way to move your body that feels fun for you! Here are a few free ideas your can try: Going for a walk outside, riding a bike, free workouts on YouTube, etc.

Recharge 2 - Meditation

Sitting in silence can do wonders to help recharge our batteries. In a world where constantly feeling busy is the norm, we can counteract that by taking a 5-minute mediation break. Science has shown that a 5-minute meditation can reduce stress, increase focus, and improve mindfulness. Here's a lovely and free 5-minute meditation you can try today!

Recharge 3 - Read a Book

Allow yourself to be transported to another world in the pages of a book, whether it's a mystery, romance, or adventure novel. As adults, we often feel like we don't have the time to do something as simple as reading. But creating the space and time to read is a beautiful way to recharge after a long and busy day. Bonus points if you combine that with a bubble bath!

Recharge 4 - Create an Evening Routine

We often hear about the importance of having a morning routine.Implementing a simple practice to encourage relaxation after a busy day can help you fall into a deeper, more restful sleep, so you can wake up feeling refreshed. Adults should be getting 7 - 9 hours of sleep a night. Here are a few simple evening routine ideas you can try: Prayer, journaling, yin yoga, hot bath, choosing a consistent bedtime, listening to a relaxing bedtime playlist, etc.

Recharge 5 - Color

Coloring isn't just for kids! This simple activity is one of the best ways to relax the mind; for some people, it can be therapeutic. You also don't need anything fancy to start coloring. Pick up some pencil crayons from the dollar store and print out coloring pages online to start today. Coloring before bed is a great way to slow down and calm the mind too. Give it a try!

Psst.

I want to remind you that you do not have to 'earn' self-care.

You deserve daily moments of relaxation.

And recharging your battery is essential.

You can't pour from an empty cup. So make time for yourself!

Which activity are you going to try? Let me know in the comments below.
